If you are engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen you can apply for a Subclass 300 Prospective Marriage Visa.
The Prospective Marriage Visa is sometimes called the Fiancé Visa. The Visa allows you to travel to Australia to be with your fiancé.
Once you arrive in Australia your Prospective Marriage Visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 9 months, marry your Fiancé and apply for a Subclass 820 Partner Visa (Temporary) and the Subclass 801 Partner Visa (Permanent).
If your application for a 820/801 Partner Visa is successful, you will then be able to remain in Australia as a Permanent Resident, work and study, apply for Australian citizenship when eligible, receive social security benefits and sponsor eligible relatives applying for permanent residence.
